On Sunday, November 19th, the St Mary’s Knights took to the ice at the John Rhodes Centre to face the Korah Colts in Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League action.

At 8:27 of the first, Daniel Guzzo found the back of Korah netminder Payton Melchoirre net to give the Knights a 1 – 0 lead with Nick Kelly and Lucas Green adding the helpers on Guzzo’s second goal of the season. Nathan Guizzetti tied the game 1 – 1 for the Colts at 13:13 of the second period with his first of the 2023 – 2024 season with Tucker Deschamps and Tyler Lang notching the assists on Guizzetti’s tying goal behind St Mary’s goaltender Liam DuBois. Eight seconds past the midway mark of the third, Korah’s Ethan Ferguson sinks his first of the season to give Korah a 2 – 1 lead at the 9:52 mark. Hunter Thornklinson and Preston Miller registered the contributors on Ferguson’s go-ahead goal. With 4:58 remaining in the Sunday contest, Darian Pucci sank his first of the season to finish the game 2 – 2 for the Knights unassisted.  Colt netminder Payton Melchoirre stopped 31 of 33 shots in the tie while Knight goaltender Liam Dubois turned away 28 of 30 shots in the 2 – 2 tie.

The St Charles Cardinals travel to Sault Ste Marie on Thursday, November 23rd to face the Superior Heights Steelhawks at 9:00 a.m followed by the Korah Colts at 1:00 p.m with both games taking place at the Northern Community Centre. Saultsports TV and TruHous Sports Radio will broadcast the games live. The Knights next game will be on November 30th when they take to the ice at the John Rhodes Centre for a 3:30 p.m puck drop.
