Chateauguay, Quebec Chance-Melford Beaudoin-Skerritt Joins Algoma Men’s Thunderbird Program

The Algoma Thunderbirds announced the newest addition to their roster for the 2025 – 2026 OUA season with Chance-Melford Beaudoin-Skerritt joining the men’s basketball program – a Point/Shooting Guard from Chateauguay, Quebec.

A standout since the age of six, this guard has competed with programs like the Champlain Cavaliers, Châteauguay Ravens, and South Shore Select, developing a well-rounded game built on intensity, passion, and the will to win.

He has competed in RSEQ Playoffs and Hoop Group Live Sessions and was named Champlain Rookie of the Year.

Off the court, the young athlete is passionate about video games, music, and videography. He will study in the Bachelor of Arts program at Algoma U come the fall.

“I chose Algoma U because they chose me. I was always told to go where you are wanted – not where you want,” says Beaudoin-Skerritt

“Chance is the versatile guard we were looking for going into next season,” says Head Coach, Ryan Vetrie. “He adds size and length at the guard position. We really like his competitive drive and believe he will help our program move in the right direction.”
