Bumbaco’s Two Touchdown’s and Field Goal Help Sabercats in Win Over Lions

Coming of a 43 – 8 opening regular season win at home on Saturday, June 10th over the visiting Sudbury Spartans at Superior Heights, the Sault Varsity Sabercats took to the road to face the York Lions in Aurora, Ontario to face the York Lions in varsity Ontario Summer Football League action.

In Aurora on Saturday afternoon, Daniel Bumbaco and Dante Scaglione lead the Sault with two touchdowns each with Bumbaco’s coming on one rushing and one punt return majors. Scaglione ran for his touchdowns in the Sault’s 42 – 6 win over the Lions. Bumbaco also found the uprights for a field goal in the Sabercats win. Landon Trecartin caught two inceptions with one of the inceptions resulting in a Sault touchdown. Adding to the Sabercats lead, the Lions conceded two safeties in their 42 – 6 loss to the Sault.

The Sabercats next opponents will be the Huronia Stallions on Saturday, June 24th in Barrie with a 6:30 p.m kickoff.
