The first place Soo U18AAA Greyhounds took to road for a three game swing in New Liskeard, Kapuskasing, and rounding out the weekend in Timmins over the February 10th to February 12th in Great North U18 Hockey League action.

Over the weekend on the road, Cole Cond lead the Soo U18 Greyhounds with a hat trick over the Flyers in Kapuskasing in a 5 – 3 win while Maverick Fletcher and Nathan Maguire combined to stop a total of four goals with Nathan Maguire earning a shutout in New Liskeard in a 4 – 0 win over the Cubs.

Coach Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “these are the most difficult weekends of the season with so much travel and some physical hockey but the boys responded all weekend. Last night they killed a huge five on three and then Cole Cond just went beast mode and carried us to victory. Today we had three or four guys really banged up but we came out in the third and played some dominating hockey to secure the victory.”

“Really proud of the guys for their response today, getting into bed after midnight last night to have a 10:30 a.m game and responding the way we did really shows what these guys are all about. Today was a real solid team effort and they were very deserving of the six points this weekend,” added Henderson.
