In the heart-pounding world of short track auto racing, where adrenaline fuels every turn and split-second decisions define champions, the 4th Annual Mike Parsons 73 Lap Memorial Super Late Model race returns to Laird Raceway on Friday, August 22nd and Saturday, August 23rd, 2025. Presented by NAPA Reyco Automotive, this marquee event for the Saturday, August 23rd Mike Parsons Memorial boasts a $10,000 top prize, $4000 for second, and $2,500 for third and up to $34,500 in total Super Late Model payouts, along with $250 tow money as well as a $1000.00 to start. It’s a weekend built for speed, grit, and championship drama.
Fans will be treated to a full show courtesy of Service Rental and Sales, featuring racing action across five exciting divisions: Service Rental and Sales Super Late Models, NAPA Reyco Automotive Modifieds, Highland Ford Factory Stocks, Equipment Four Cylinders, and AIM Enduros both evenings—all competing for vital 2025 championship points.
The feature race on Saturday’s Super Late Model will once again include bonus incentives: a $500 Hard Charger Award and $100 lap leader bonuses on laps 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60.
Adding to the weekend’s excitement, drivers will be battling not only for Memorial race glory but also for critical championship points. The outcome of the season-long standings hangs in the balance, making every position count and adding even more drama to an already electric event.
This isn’t just another race—it’s the crown jewel of the Laird Raceway calendar. The 73-lap battle combines high-stakes strategy, blazing speed, and heart-pounding duels that test both man and machine. Drivers will face fierce competition from top-tier Outlaw Super Late Models drivers like Jordan Sims, Roddy Bolduc, Mike Heinonen, Jordan Rocchetta, Jake Irwin, Jeremy Van Hoek, Jay Palumbo, Rob Hiiemaa, Dustin Jackson, Dan Byrnes, and Kevin Errington to name a few with the prize—and pride—on the line.
“The 51 Team is looking forward to this year’s memorial, having a strong finish last year and after leading 46 laps the previous year, having to leave due to a tire puncture, we want to have a strong showing for both our sponsors and builder VanDoorn. For us its personal, as Mike’s daughter Joanna is my sister in law we want to win for Mike’s Granddaughter Isla. If we take home the $ 10000, Team 51 will be investing it into Isla’s RESP for her future education. Cheer on team 51,” said Jeremy Van Hoek.
While the $10,000 grand prize Saturday feature is a massive draw for the 2025 Mike Parsons Memorial stands for more than money—it’s a celebration of racing spirit, preparation, and community. It’s a weekend where drivers rise to the occasion, fans roar with every lap, and every turn holds the potential for greatness.
Longtime announcer Greg Brazeau, the voice of Laird Raceway, told Saultsports, “the Michael Parsons Memorial race weekend has turned itself into the most prestigious race in the area. It’s a weekend to remember our good friend Michael, and a weekend where fans and drivers come from great distances to watch and race their cars at the historic Laird International Raceway. We’ve had over 5,000 fans pack the grandstands the last three years for this, and we’ve had some of the biggest names in Ontario coming here to try to win the $10,000 Outlaws Super Late Model 73 lap feature. JR Fitzpatrick held off hometown ace Jordan Sims last year, and it’ll be a dog fight once again this year, I’m sure. We’re all looking forward to it again this year. It’s a must attend race weekend here at LIR for both fans and race teams to attend and enjoy.”
In the world of grassroots racing, the 2025 Mike Parsons 73 Lap Memorial is more than a race—it’s a proving ground. A spectacle. A showdown. One where the echoes of roaring engines and cheering fans define the true meaning of competition.
