On Tuesday, September 10th, the Soo U18 Greyhounds took to the ice in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario at the John Rhodes Centre to host the Soo Indians in exhibition action.

With the Indians shorthanded at 5:14 of the opening period, Warren Farver picks up a Jarret Crimin rebound to slide the first goal of the game past Greyhound netminder Nick Marson to give the visitors a 1 – 0 lead. Colton Huckson added the other assist on Farver’s shorthanded goal. From the right faceoff circle, Carter Huckson fires a shot from the right faceoff circle over Marson’s left shoulder three seconds past the ten minute mark of the second to bring the Indians lead to 2 – 0. Evan Hoglund and Kadin Johnston drew the helpers on Huckson’s goal. At 10:51 of the third, Dominic Cicco rifles a snapshot from the right faceoff circle to find the back of the Greyhounds’ net under Marson’s catcher to increase the Indians lead to 3 – 0. Carter Kucher and Karsen Kucharski notched the contributors on Cicco’s goal. Gavin Killoran pulls the Greyhounds within two with the hosts lone goal of the contest from between the faceoff circles in front of Indian goaltender Dalton Hoornstra at 10:12 of the third. Nathan Dupuis had the lone assist on Killaron’s goal. With Marson on the Greyhound bench for an extra attacker and the Greyhounds down 3 – 1, Carter Huckson sank his second of the game from the left faceoff circle to give the Indians a 4 – 1 win over the Greyhounds. Kayne Payment registered the helper on Huckson’s empty net goal at 3:20 of the third. Indian goaltender Dalton Hoornstra stopped 17 of 18 shots in the exhibition matchup while Greyhound netminder Nick Marson turned away 27 of 31 shots in the loss.

The Greyhounds and Indians will now meet in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan at LSSU in a 5:00 p.m exhibition contest on Tuesday, September 17th.
