Over the July 10–12 weekend, the Soo 11U Black Sox hit the road to compete against eleven other teams at the 2026 Muskoka Cup in Bracebridge, Ontario. The tournament provided the young Black Sox with an opportunity to test themselves against strong competition from across the province while continuing to gain valuable experience on the diamond.
In game one of the weekend on Friday evening, the Black Sox easily dispatched the Guelph Royals, 13-4.
The Soo opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.
The Black Sox added two runs in the second after Oliver Holtom doubled down the right field line.
The Soo added one run in the third. Landon Morley singled to left field, making the score 4-0.
Thomas Hirvi earned the win for the Black Sox. The hurler allowed six hits and two runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking none. Reece Hunter pitched three and one-third innings in relief for the Soo.
The hurler gave up one hit and one run while striking out five and walking one. Tilson stepped on the bump first for Guelph. The righty surrendered two hits and three runs (two earned) over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two.
The Black Sox piled up 13 hits in the game. Landon Morley, Leonard Horton, Theo Rome, Jacob Schoenauer, and Oliver Holtom each collected two hits for Soo Black Sox 11U A. Landon Morley and Jacob Schoenauer each drove in three runs for Soo Black Sox 11U A. Mason DiDonato paced Soo Black Sox 11U A with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Jacob Schoenauer stole two bases.
Spencer, Sullivan, Derek, Evan, Owen, Quinn, and Tilson each collected one hit for the Royals. Evan went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Spencer stole two bases.
After opening the 2026 Muskoka Cup with a win on Friday, the Black Sox took to the diamond Saturday morning to face the New Lowell Knights.
Reid Entwistle collected four hits in four at bats, as the Black Sox defeated New Lowell, 12-3.. Reid tripled in the seventh inning, doubled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
The Soo got on the board in the top of the first inning after Landon Morley grounded out, and Jax Palahnuk tripled to center field, each scoring one run.
The Knights scored on a passed ball, which helped New Lowell tie the game at two in the bottom of the second.
The Black Sox took the lead in the top of the third inning after Theo Rome singled to left field, Reid Entwistle doubled to left field, Landon singled to center field, and Jax Palahnuk doubled to center field, each scoring one run.
Jax Palahnuk earned the win for the Soo. The hurler gave up four hits and three runs (zero earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out eight and walking none. Bradley stepped on the bump first for New Lowell. The pitcher gave up 10 hits and eight runs (six earned) over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one. Jacob Schoenauer appeared in relief for the Black Sox.
The Soo collected 17 hits in the game. Jax Palahnuk, Landon Morley, Reid Entwistle, and Mason DiDonato each drove in two runs for the Black Sox. Thomas Hirvi collected three hits for the Black Sox in three at bats.
Zach led New Lowell with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Nixon, Zach, Ryland, and Wesley each collected one hit for the Knights.
The Black Sox met the Oakville A’s in their second game of the day and third of the 2026 Muskoka Cup on Saturday afternoon.
Jax Palahnuk drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Soo past the A’s 16-5. Jax Palahnuk tripled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one.
Oakville opened the scoring in the first after Andrew doubled, scoring two runs.
The Soo jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Jax Palahnuk tripled, scoring three runs, and Leonard Horton doubled, scoring one run.
The Black Sox added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Jacob Schoenauer singled to right field, Mason DiDonato walked, Connor Gaines singled to right field, and the Black Sox scored on a passed ball, each scoring one run.
A double by Landon Morley, a triple by Thomas Hirvi, and a single by Jax Palahnuk helped the Black Sox extend their early lead in the third.
Reid Entwistle earned the win for the Soo. The starter surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking none. Ian led things off on the mound for Oakville. The starting pitcher allowed 12 hits and 14 runs (12 earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking three. Lenny threw one inning of no-run ball for the Black Sox in relief. The reliever surrendered two hits, striking out one and walking none.
The Black Sox collected 14 hits in the game. Jax Palahnuk, Landon Morley, Leonard Horton, and Oliver Holtom each collected two hits for the Soo. Mason stole two bases. The Black Sox stole six bases in the game.
Andrew provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the A’s with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-1 on the day. Antonio led Oakville with two hits in three at bats.
In the third game of the weekend in Bracebridge, the Black Sox won big over Barrie Baycats, 9-1 on Sunday morning.
Barrie was the first to get on the board in the first when Kaleb C drew a walk, scoring one run.
Landon Morley singled to center field on an 0-2 count, which helped the Soo tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
The Black Sox jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Morley doubled to left field,

The Black Sox added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hits. Morley singled, scoring one run, and Hirvi hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs.
Reece Hunter earned the win for the Soo. The pitcher surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking five. Gavin began the game for the Baycats.
The southpaw gave up nine hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking four. Morley tossed two and two-thirds innings of scoreless ball for the Black Sox in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
The Soo collected 13 hits in the game. Hirvi and Morley were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for the Black Sox. Morley went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Soo in hits. Entwistle, DiDonato, and Schoenauer each collected multiple hits for the Black Sox. Morley stole two bases. The Black Sox turned one double play in the game.
Hunter set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Barrie with two hits in two at bats. Ryland led the Baycats with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.
In the championship game at the 2026 Muskoka Cup on Sunday afternoon in Bracebridge Landon Morley put on a strong contact performance as the Black Sox take the win over the Saugeen Shores Sting.
Morley collected three hits in three at bats, as the Soo defeated the Sting 12-9. Morley singled in the fifth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
The Black Sox opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. The Soo first got on the board when Morley singled, scoring one run.
The Black Sox added to their early lead in the top of the second inning afterJacob Schoenauer singled to right field, DiDonato singled to left field, Connor Gaines walked, and Theo Rome singled, each scoring one run.
A triple by Palahnuk, a single by Leonard Horton, and a single by Oliver Holtom helped Soo extend their early lead in the third.
Hirvi earned the win for the Soo. The starter allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out eight and walking none. Roy took the loss for Saugeen Shores. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on two hits, striking out five and walking none. Jared D began the game for the Sting. The starter gave up 13 hits and 10 runs over three and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one. Entwistle appeared in relief for the Black Sox.
The Soo piled up 15 hits in the game. Hirvi, Entwistle, and Holtrom each collected multiple hits for the Black Sox.
The Soo ran wild on the base paths, tallying six stolen bases for the game.
The Sting accumulated 14 hits in the game. Roy provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Sting with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Camden, Ryder, and River each collected three hits for Saugeen Shores. Cameron collected two hits for the Sting in three at bats. Saugeen Shores turned one double play in the game.
The Black Sox will now prpeare the upcoming weekend for the 2026 London Talons Tournament over the July 17th to 19th weekend.
