The 2026 Finalists Set After Action-Packed Junior and Senior Basketball Semi-Finals

On Tuesday, February 10th, the 2026 Sault Ste. Marie Boy’s High School Basketball Junior and Senior semi-finals tipped off across the city, with four matchups determining who would advance to the city championships. Junior action saw the White Pines Wolverines travel to St. Mary’s College to face the Knights, while the Superior Heights Steelhawks hit the road to take on the Korah Colts at Korah Collegiate. On the senior side, the St. Mary’s Knights visited White Pines, and the Steelhawks hosted the Colts at Superior Heights.

In senior play at Superior Heights, the Steelhawks delivered a strong performance to defeat the Korah Colts 74–42. Nicholas Frost led all scorers for Superior Heights with 21 points, while Max Shillingford added 17 in the win. For the Colts, Colton Jones paced the offense with 12 points, and Yahya Abbasi chipped in with 10.

At White Pines, the Wolverines earned a convincing 66–43 victory over the St. Mary’s Knights to book their spot in the senior final. Garrin Pine powered the Wolverines with a game-high 22 points, supported by Ethan McCorkell’s 19-point effort. St. Mary’s was led by Amare Boateng with 13 points, while Gabe Banalaygas contributed five.

Junior semi-final action at Korah Collegiate featured a tightly contested matchup, with the Korah Colts edging the Superior Heights Steelhawks 63–57. Alex Farrell led the Colts with 22 points, and Paxton Brodie added 10. Superior Heights received balanced scoring from Landon Coulter and James Kelly, who each finished with 20 points in the loss.

In the other junior semi-final at St. Mary’s College, the Knights advanced with a dominant 65–34 win over the White Pines Wolverines. Lukas Maninos led the Knights with 18 points, while Jackson Carroll and Jakhoi Penney each added 14. White Pines was paced by Christian Budd with eight points and Aiden Dacosta with seven.

With the semi-finals complete, the stage is set for the 2026 Sault Ste. Marie Boy’s High School Basketball City Championships on Friday, February 13th at St. Mary’s College. The junior championship will feature the Korah Colts against the St. Mary’s Knights at 5:30 p.m, followed by the senior title game at 7:30 p.m, where the Superior Heights Steelhawks will face the White Pines Wolverines for city bragging rights.
