Soo Greyhounds U14 & U15 Teams Compete at 2025 Alliance Showcase in Windsor

Over the October 3rd to 5th weekend, the Soo U14 and U15 Greyhounds hit the ice in Windsor, Ontario, to take part in the 2025 Alliance Showcase — a competitive event featuring top AAA teams from across the province.

The U14 Greyhounds opened their weekend on Friday morning against the Elgin Middlesex Canucks in a tightly contested matchup, falling 2–1. In their second game on Friday evening, the Soo battled the London Knights but came up short with a 6–2 loss. The Hounds wrapped up the showcase on Saturday afternoon against the Huron-Perth Lakers, dropping a 4–1 decision to finish the weekend.

Next up for the U14 Greyhounds is the Wendy Dufton Memorial AAA Tournament in London, Ontario, running from October 10th to 12th. The team will face the Grey Bruce Highlands at 10:00 a.m. and the Huron-Perth Lakers at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10th, before meeting the Elgin Middlesex Canucks again on Saturday, October 11th.

Meanwhile, the U15 Greyhounds also competed in the Alliance Showcase and opened their weekend Friday morning against the Elgin Middlesex Canucks, where they were narrowly edged 2–1. The Soo rebounded in strong fashion during their Friday night game, shutting out the London Knights 3–0. They carried that momentum into Saturday, dominating the Huron-Perth Lakers 7–0 to close out a solid weekend performance.

The U15 Greyhounds will return home next weekend as they host the Sudbury Wolves at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie. Game times are set for 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 11th, followed by a 9:30 a.m. matchup on Sunday, October 12th.

U15 Greyhound coach Cole Jarrett told Saultsports that “I thought it was a good weekend overall. We are getting scoring throughout the lineup which is great to see. Our depth has been our strength to this point and we are thrilled to see everyone contributing at both ends of the ice.”

It was a weekend of valuable competition and experience for both Soo teams as they continue to develop and prepare for a busy stretch of fall hockey action.
