Have you ever wondered what ringette is all about? Now is the perfect chance to find out! The Sault Ringette Club is excited to host a free Come Try Ringette event on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 3:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m at the Northern Community Centre (556 Goulais Ave, Sault Ste. Marie, ON).
Designed to introduce children ages 4 to 10 to ringette, this non-competitive session offers a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment for beginner skaters. No prior skating experience is required to participate. The event provides a complete overview of the sport for both parents and young players:
- 3:00 p.m – Welcome Information Session: Learn about ringette, available local programs, required equipment, and what families can expect during the upcoming season.
- 3:45 p.m – 4:45 p.m – On-Ice Session: Participants are on the ice alongside experienced volunteer players and coaches for an introductory session focused on basic skating skills, ring handling, and mini-games. No skating experience required.
- 4:45 p.m – 5:00 p.m – Q&A; Registration Assistance: Club leaders will be on hand to answer questions and assist families ready to sign up for the season.
Events like “Come Try Ringette’ give local youth a chance to discover a rewarding lifelong sport while building lasting community connections.
