When the Sault Cougars Women’s hockey team hits the ice for the 2021/22 season they will have a British Columbia hockey standout in their lineup. Emma Lee of The Delta BC Hockey Academy represents one of the first player from British Columbia to make their way to Sault College to participate on our Women’s ACHA varsity hockey team. Lee who hails from South Delta, British Columbia will be studying Fish and Wildlife at Sault College. Lee a left handed forward has also excelled in the classroom boasting a 3.7 GPA and is a perpetual honour roll student.
Emma’s has set the bar high in terms of where she would like to take her hockey career. ” My personal goal is to be the best that I can be, to work hard at everything I do and my ultimate dream is to play hockey in the Olympics. I love animals and I would like to work with animals in my future career after hockey.” In 2020-2021 Lee was invited to Team China’s U18 Training Camp so her dreams may not that far off.
” We are thrilled to have Emma on board and can’t wait to see her on the ice”, according to Head Coach Brianne Veale. Rick Webb the team’s GM was equally enthusiastic about the signing of Lee, ” Our goal is to be the Best Women’s D-II team possible and we are excited to have a player coming onboard that shares that vision. This cross country signing also speaks to the recruiting momentum Sault College Hockey is capitalizing on and the hard work of our recruiters and scouts”.
