On Wednesday, November 5th, the Notre Dame du Sault Voyageurs and the St. Mary’s Knights met in the 2025 Sault Ste. Marie Boys High School Volleyball City Championship, with the title and city bragging rights on the line. In an exciting four-set battle, the Voyageurs emerged victorious, defeating the Knights 3–1 to claim the city championship crown.

Notre Dame came out strong, dominating the opening set 25–11 behind sharp serving and strong net play. The Voyageurs carried that momentum into the second set, pulling ahead late to secure a 25–18 win and take a commanding two-set lead. However, St. Mary’s showed their resilience in the third, rallying to a 25–13 victory to keep their championship hopes alive.

The fourth set proved to be the most thrilling of the night, with both teams trading points and momentum swings in a back-and-forth battle. In the end, Notre Dame held their composure in the clutch moments, edging out the Knights 27–25 to seal the match and secure the 2025 city title.

With the win, the Notre Dame du Sault Voyageurs are now set to represent Sault Ste. Marie at the next stage of competition. The victory not only highlights the team’s skill and determination but also marks an impressive chapter in the Voyageurs’ volleyball program as they look ahead to their next challenge beyond the city championship.
