Entering another week as No. 1 in the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) Top 20 Rankings – Collège Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ) remain on a solid run.
Despite suffering a one-goal setback Friday, which was their first loss in Quebec AAA Junior Hockey League action this season, Collège Français returned to the win column Sunday to raise their record to 18-1-0-0 in holding down top spot in the listings.
Winners of 10 straight and sitting 16-1-0-0 overall, the Manitoba Junior Hockey League’s Niverville Nighthawks have moved into No. 2 in the rankings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service.
Solid defensive play on their 10-game heater has seen Niverville only give up 18 goals-against in that span to bolster their league-low total of only 35 allowed on the campaign.
Tabbed at No. 3 this week are the Rockland Nationals (CCHL).
Even with dropping two close contests over the weekend to see a 15-game winning streak come to and end, Rockland is still playing at a rate of .882 while continuing to top the Central Canada Hockey League with a mark of 15-2-0-0.
Coming away victorious in eight consecutive contests, the Toronto Patriots (OJHL) are now slotted in at No. 4.
Sporting an Ontario Junior Hockey League-best plus-59 goal differential, the Patriots have gone 20-5-0-0 to kick off their season.
Wrapping up the Top 5 is another OJHL side, the Trenton Golden Hawks.
Trenton has 34 of a possible 42 points to their credit, going 16-3-0-2 to date while only having dropped an OJHL-low three games in regulation.
