Korah Colts Run their Way to a 2022 OFSAA Northern Bowl Championship

In Guelph, Ontario at the 2022 OFSAA Football Northern Bowl Championship, the NOSSA Korah Colts took to Alumni Stadium on the campus of Guelph University to face the CWOSSA Jacob Hespeler of Cambridge on Wednesday, November 30th.

After an eighty yard drive at 6:33 of the opening quarter, Kaylob Thibodeau runs for a six yard Korah touchdown to give the Colts a 7 – 0 lead after a succesful Ty Koski convert. Thibodeau scores his second major of the contest at 4:18 to give the Colts a 14 – 0 lead with a ten yard rush. Koski found the uprights for his second convert of the championships. Jacob Hespeler quarterback Jacob Bouck finds Jenson Button in the Colts endzone with a three yard pass to close the gap to eleven at the end of the opening quarter to bring the game to 14 – 7 after a successful Hawk convert. 3:37 into the second quarter, Korah’s Thibodeau runs for a five yard touchdown to bring the lead to 21 – 7 with a Koski convert to increase the Colts lead to 21 – 7. Ronan Provenzano rushes for a six yard touchdown carry to leap one yard over a Hawk defender with 2:30 remaining in the half to give the Colts a 28 – 7 lead with Koski kicking his fourth straight convert.

Jacob Bouck closes the gap to 14 after a 16 yard pass to Chase Judge into Korah’s endzone with 37 seconds left in the half after a successful Jacob Hespeler convert. With time ticking down on the scoreboard and only seven seconds remaining in the Northern Bowl half, Provenzano gives Korah a 35 – 14 lead with a 55 yard Colt carry. Koski added the extra point with Korah’s fifth convert. At 7:02 of the third, Koski finds the Hawks uprights for a Korah 16 yard field goal to bring the Colts lead to 38 – 14. 1:52 into the final quarter of the 2022 Northern Bowl, grade eleven Kaylob Thibodeau runs for his fourth touchdown with a four yard carry to increase the lead to 45 – 14 after a Koski convert. Provenzano secures a Korah 52 -14 Northern Bowl championship for the Colts with a six yard carry with 1:55 left in the game. Koski kicked his sixth successful convert on the championship.

The Colts earned the 2022 Sault Ste Marie Senior High School City title, 2022 NOSSA Championship along with the 2022 OFSAA Northern Bowl Championship after a 52 – 14 win over the Jacob Hespeler Hawks.
