The Korah Colts Junior girls’ basketball team travelled to Sudbury over the October 24th and 25th weekend to take part in the Golden Gator tournament.

After winning their first two games in pool play versus Marymount Academy of Sudbury and Champlain Secondary of Chelmsford the Colts headed to the semifinal. In the semifinal the Colts had a rematch from last seasons NOSSA tournament with Lo-Ellen Park of Sudbury. The game was close throughout, but the Colts came out on top with a 37-31 victory. Amy Clement, Kara Derosario, and Taylor Metcalf played incredible defence and came up with key steals and rebounds. Lila Jarrett’s presence was huge on both sides of the floor and had the local fans in an uproar every time she made a key play.

In the finals, the Colts faced a tall Elliot Lake Team. Claire Hill scored 17 points, including five three pointers. Four of those threes came in just four minutes of play in the third quarter to give the Colts some breathing room and seal the victory.
