On the campus of the University of Guelph, the fifth-ranked Korah Colts stormed Alumni Field on Wednesday, November 28th, for the 2025 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Football Golden Horseshoe Bowl. Their opponents, the sixth-ranked A.N. Myer Marauders of Niagara Falls, came prepared for a battle—and the two programs delivered a championship classic.

Ten seconds into the second quarter, the Colts struck first. A.J. Coccimiglio hauled in a one-yard pass from quarterback Brett Koski, then added the convert to give the 2025 Sault Ste. Marie City Champions and NOSSA Champions a 7–0 lead. A.N. Myer responded at 5:09 when Tyson Louis Charles caught a one-yard touchdown from quarterback Noah Walters, followed by a successful conversion to tie the game 7–7.

Coccimiglio continued to shine, bursting through the Marauders’ defensive line for a 29-yard rushing touchdown at 3:08 of the second quarter, then hitting the extra point for a 14–7 Korah lead. With forty seconds left in the half, Payton Melchiorre powered in a 14-yard major, and Coccimiglio’s convert sent the Colts into halftime up 21–7.

The Colts kept rolling early in the third. At 8:48, Koski handed off to Coccimiglio at the three-yard line, where he punched in his third touchdown of the championship to extend the lead to 28–7. A.N. Myer answered at 6:32 when Walters connected with Travis Boland on a five-yard pass that turned into a 15-yard scoring play, followed by a Lawson convert to make it 28–14. Coccimiglio added a 32-yard field goal at 2:06 to push the Colts ahead 31–14.

A.N. Myer refused to back down. Lawson opened the fourth quarter scoring with a 25-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 31–17. With 1:27 remaining, Walters found Brett Wall for an eight-yard touchdown, and Lawson’s convert brought the Marauders within seven. A successful onside kick at the Korah 52-yard line gave A.N. Myer one final chance. With just 39 seconds on the clock, Walters again turned to Boland, who completed a 17-yard reception and added a 15-yard run to complete the comeback and tie the game 31–31, forcing overtime.

In the shootout-style extra frame, the Colts took possession first. Melchiorre delivered once again, rushing 11 yards for the go-ahead major while Coccimiglio added the convert to make it 38–31. A.N. Myer’s final possession ended with an incomplete pass, sealing the championship.

With grit, resilience, and clutch performances across the roster, the Korah Colts were crowned the 2025 OFSAA Golden Horseshoe Bowl Champions, bringing the banner home to Sault Ste. Marie after one of the most dramatic finishes in bowl history.
