Knights and Wolverines Split Doubleheaders in Sault Ste. Marie Girls’ High School Volleyball Action

On Thursday, January 15th, girls’ high school volleyball action in Sault Ste. Marie featured a pair of competitive matchups across the junior and senior divisions. The Korah Colts traveled to St. Mary’s College to take on the Knights, while the Superior Heights Steelhawks met the White Pines Wolverines in a cross-town clash.

In junior division play, the St. Mary’s Knights edged the Korah Colts in a tightly contested two-set match. The Knights showed composure in key moments, earning a 26–24 victory in the opening set before closing out the match with a 25–23 win. At White Pines, the Superior Heights Steelhawks battled through three sets to defeat the Wolverines. The Steelhawks claimed the first set 25–20, dropped the second 20–25, and regrouped to secure the match with a decisive 15–8 win in the third set.

Senior division action saw St. Mary’s continue its strong night, defeating the Korah Colts in straight sets. The Knights controlled the pace of play, posting wins of 25–17 and 25–18. In the other senior matchup, the White Pines Wolverines responded with resilience against the Steelhawks. After dropping a close first set 24–26, the Wolverines bounced back to take the second set 25–23 and sealed the victory with a 15–10 win in the deciding third set.

The next slate of Sault Ste. Marie girls’ high school volleyball action is scheduled for February 5th. The Superior Heights Steelhawks will visit Korah Collegiate to face the Colts, while the St. Mary’s Knights travel to White Pines to take on the Wolverines. Match play is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. for the junior division, followed by senior division action at 5:30 p.m.
