Hard Fought Loss for Knights Against Number One Ranked Cavaliers at 2024 OFSAA ‘AA’ Basketball in North Bay

After opening the 2024 Senior ‘AA’ OFSAA Championships in North Bay, Ontario with a 47 – 15 win over the 16th ranked les Flames de Thériault (North East Ontario Athletic Association) from Timmins, Ontario, the sixth ranked St. Mary’s Knights (Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletics) of Sault Ste. Marie took to the hard court on Friday, November 22nd against the number one ranked Oakville, Ontario’s Kings Christian Collegiate Cavaliers (Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference).

In a hard-fought matchup, the number one ranked King Christian team emerged victorious over the sixth ranked St. Mary’s College with a 51-43 win. The game showcased a strong team effort from the Knights with Abby Jaremko leading the charge by scoring 18 points, keeping the offense flowing throughout the game. Kloe Kurylo also made significant contributions, adding 16 points, while Sienna Magli chipped in with seven points. Marisa Levesque rounded out the scoring with four points, each player stepping up in the loss. 

Looking ahead, St Mary’s will now shift their focus to the consolation bracket, where they will play their next game at 4:00 p.m Friday afternoon. The Knight will be looking to build on their strong performance in the loss and continue their run at the 2024 Senior ‘AA’ OFSAA Championships . The team will be aiming for another solid effort, keeping up the intensity and looking to improve upon areas of their game, particularly as they face another high-stakes matchup. Fans and players alike are eager to see how the squad responds to the challenge and how they can leverage their depth and skill for a strong finish.
