Forward Dylan Hendrick Coming Back to Northern Ontario to Join the Soo Thunderbirds

On Monday, June 19th, the Soo Thunderbirds acquired Mactier, Ontario forward Dylan Hendrick from the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Stouffville Spirits for a player development fee.

In 50 regular season games in the OJHL with the Spirit as a 17 year old, Hendrick scored three goals and added ten assists during the 2022 – 2023 OJHL season. The 5’10” and 175 lbs forward tallied 57 minutes in penalties. The season before in 2022 – 2023 as a 16 year old, Dylan dressed in 48 regular season games with the NOJHL Blind River Beavers where the Mactier, Ontario hockey player scored five goals and assisted on ten Beaver goals along with spending 24 minutes in the penalty box.

As a 17 year old in the spring of 2023, Hendrick represented the province of Ontario when the forward played for Team Ontario at the 2023 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships.

Soo Thunderbird general manager Jamie Henderson told Saultsports that “Dylan came highly recommended he will add a lot to our dressing room he’s someone who comes to the rink with a great attitude wanting to get better. On the ice he has exceptional speed and we are really excited to have him join our group.”
