Daily Focus, Elite Fundamentals, and A Strong Team Culture as the Korah Colts Head to 2025 Senior OFSAA Bowl

On Wednesday, November 26th, the Korah Colts senior football program will hit Alumni Field on the campus of Guelph University, proudly representing Sault Ste Marie and Northern Ontario at the 2025 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations Football Championships. The Colts will compete in the 2025 Golden Horseshoe Bowl against the A.N. Myer Marauders of Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The Marauders bring a challenging matchup, operating out of a spread offense with a balanced attack and a gifted dual-threat quarterback. Korah has spent the week preparing specifically for Myer’s versatility, adjusting defensive sets and personnel groupings in an effort to disrupt timing and limit explosive plays. Mixing fronts and coverages will be key to keeping the Marauder offense off balance.

Leadership has been a defining trait of the Colts all season long. Elite fifth-year lineman JJ DiMichele has continued to raise the standard, inspiring the roster heading into championship week. Focused, energized, and embracing the moment, Korah enters Wednesday with confidence.

The Colts pride themselves on being a process-driven program—one built on sacrifice, accountability, and team-first mentality. Many of Korah’s top athletes, including major league award nominees and winners, have been excellent throughout the regular season and playoffs. Younger contributors such as Evan Boville, Gabe Phillips, and Ryder Strachan have elevated their play when it mattered most, while the entire roster continues to make meaningful impacts.

One of the most notable stories of the season has been the rapid development of transfer Grayson Turco. Arriving from Newfoundland having never played football before, Turco has shown remarkable growth from training camp to championship week—proof, coaches say, that the Colts’ success is built on full-team commitment.

Defensively, Korah will roll out new personnel groupings designed to increase speed on the field. Linebackers Max Fuselli and Logan Lajunen are expected to play significant roles within those packages. The secondary will face its toughest test of the year, with Jaxton Kinnunen, Chase Venn, Cam Williamson, Ryder Strachan, Nolan Deluca, and Yehya Abbasy all counted on in coverage. On the defensive line, guard Jake Orr has stepped up in response to injuries, while offensive lineman Emmett Kreps has put together an outstanding two weeks of practice. Logan Frost has also raised his level of play and has become a key piece of Korah’s overall team success.

Offensively, the Colts’ backfield, quarterback play, and receiving corps have been strong all season. But the heartbeat of the unit remains the offensive line—better known around Korah as “The Chain Gang.” Their physicality, experience, and chemistry have powered the Colts to this stage, and they will once again be leaned upon to set the tone.

With preparation complete and anticipation building, the Colts head to Guelph understanding exactly what is required: discipline, execution, resilience, and a total team effort. A provincial championship is within reach—and Korah is ready for the moment.

“Anytime the Colts faced and overcame adversity we became a stronger and more unified team. I can look back to our week two game when we were tied late in the fourth quarter and our offense marched down the field to score and clinched the win. Or more recently, in the NOSSA Finals, we had three turnovers in the second quarter which led to us being down two scores. Our team showed great poise and bounced back immediately to take the lead back and eventually win the NOSSA championship by a convincing score. Despite having a relatively young roster, we are a very experienced team that has played in plenty of big games,” said Korah senior coach Tom Annett.
