On Saturday, November 15th and Sunday, November 16th, the Sault College Cougars were back on home court as they hosted the St. Clair Saints in a two-match Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) women’s volleyball set. Still searching for their first win of the 2025–2026 season, the Cougars showed determination throughout the weekend but ultimately came up short in both contests.
Saturday’s matchup saw Sault College push the visiting Saints in a competitive four-set battle. After St. Clair took the opening set 25–18, the Cougars responded with a strong second-set performance, earning a hard-fought 25–23 victory to even the match. The third and fourth sets remained tight, but the Saints held the edge when it mattered, taking them 25–23 and 25–20 to secure the 3–1 win.
On Sunday afternoon, the Saints carried their momentum forward, capturing the rematch in straight sets. Despite moments of resilience from the Cougars, St. Clair controlled the play throughout, earning set victories of 25–8, 25–14, and 25–19 to complete the weekend sweep.
The Cougars will now benefit from an extended break before returning to OCAA play in the new year. Their next action comes on the road in Sudbury with back-to-back matchups against the Cambrian Shield on January 10th (6:00 p.m.) and January 11th (1:00 p.m.).
