At the Rankin Arena on Monday, February 2nd, the Korah Colts (5-1) took to the ice against the CASS Huskies (1-3) in Sault Ste. Marie Girls High School Hockey League action, with both teams trading momentum in a hard-fought contest.

The Huskies struck first early in the opening period on the power play. At 3:55, Kendall Kleist opened the scoring with her fifth goal of the season, assisted by Kalie Cooke and Kenneth Shaw to give CASS a 1–0 lead. The Huskies continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage at 1:26 when Dani Stewart scored her sixth goal of the season on an unassisted effort, putting CASS up 2–0 by the end of the first period.

Korah began to claw their way back in the second period. At 7:58, Alix Rushton got the Colts on the board, scoring her third goal of the season off a setup from Sapphire Recollet-Case, cutting the deficit to 2–1 heading into the final frame.

The Colts completed the comeback early in the third period. At 3:14, Journey Tegosh found the back of the net for her eighth goal of the season, finishing a play set up by Nikki Steinburg and Sapphire Recollet-Case to even the score at 2–2.

Both teams pushed for a late winner, but strong goaltending kept the game deadlocked the rest of the way. Britton Notte stood tall in net for the Korah Colts, while Cassidy Cooke was solid between the pipes for the CASS Huskies, preserving the tie.

The Huskies will be back in action on Tuesday, February 3rd, returning to the Rankin Arena to face the St. Mary’s Knights in another Sault Ste. Marie Girls High School Hockey League matchup with puck drop scheduled for 2:30 p.m while the Colts hit the road to take on the Huskies in Thessalon on Thursday, February 5th in a 8:00 p.m start.
