With a Loss in Owen Sound, Greyhounds Even at 2-2 Heading Home

After winning the first games at home in Essar Centre in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario, the Soo Greyhounds lost game three in Owen Sound 4 – 1 to the Attack on April 9th in the west division semi – final, the Soo hit the ice against the Attack on the 11th in Owen Sound for game four of the best of seven Ontario Hockey League series.

With their first shot of the Greyhound net, from the right side of Greyhound goaltender Joseph Raaymakers 2:07 into the opening period, Chase Campbell sinks Owen Sound’s first goal of the game with an assist from Maksim Sushko to give the Attack a 1 – 0 lead. At 4:49 of the middle stanza, Nick Suzuki picks up the rebound in front of Raaymakers to bring the Attack’s lead to 2 – 0 with Owen Sound shorthanded. Jonah Gadjovich adds the helper on Suzuki’s goal. Greyhound Boris Katchouk sinks his seventh of the 2017 post – season with jamming the puck under Owen Sound’s Michael McNiven 6:10 into the second with captain Blake Speers and David Miller drawing the contributors on Katchouk’s goal.

Owen Sound’s Petrus Palmu fires a shot from the top of the circle at 8:20 of the third to find the back of the Soo’s net to give the Attack a 3 – 1 lead with Santino Centorame and Suzkui setting up Palmu’s power play marker. Morgan Frost scores his second of the play – offs 15:38 into the final period to pull the Greyhounds within one with Mac Hollowell and Noah Carroll adding the assists on Frost’s goal. With an unassisted Attack goal, Gadjovich increases the hosts lead to 4 – 2 at 16:09 of the third.  Greyhound goaltender Joseph Raaymaker stopped 37 of 41 shots in the Soo’s 4 – 2 loss in Owen Sound.

Game five will take place on Friday April 14th with the series even at 2 – 2 in Sault Ste Marie in a 7:07 p.m puck drop at the Essar Centre.
