The St Charles Cardinals from Sudbury came to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario on November 12th to face the Superior Heights Steelhawks in the senior 2016 Northern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Football Championship at Superior Heights field.
At 2:27 of the first quarter, Steelhawk Cooper Laframboise carries to ball for a two yard touchdown to give Superior Heights a 7 – 0 lead. Issac Belisto runs the ball 23 yards for the Steelhawks at 7:35 of the second quarter to bring Superior Heights lead to 14 – 0. With 52 seconds left in the first half, Matt Bell returns the kick – off for the Cardinals to close the gap to seven for St. Charles.
After a 13 yard catch by Belisto, Steelhawk quarterback Noah Grigg hands Laframboise the ball for his second touchdown of the game on a two yard run at 2:19 of the third quarter to increase Superior Heights to 21 – 7. Kristian Shuttleworth adds a extra point for a Steelhawk rouge on the kick – off to bring Superior Heights lead to 22 – 7. With the clock ticking down and 36.5 seconds left in the 2016 NOSSA Championship, Grigg throws a 20 yard pass to Belisto where the 18 year old receiver carries the ball for 27 yards to give the Steelhawks a 29 – 7 win over the Cardinals.

Superior Heights will now advance to the 2016 Ontario Federation of School Athletic Association Bowl Game at Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton, Ontario against the 2016 Toronto District School Board champions on November 30th in a 10:00 a.m kick – off.
