In Ottawa, Ontario on November 21st, the St. Mary’s Knights, Superior Heights Steelhawks finished their round robin action with one game each to determine who would head to a tournament title in the nation’s capital on Tuesday afternoon.
The first place (2-0) St. Mary’s Knights hit the ice on November 21st at 8:15 a.m against the hosts, the third place (2-0) Holy Trinity Tornadoes in their final round robin match – up at the 12th Annual Captial High School Hockey Tournament in Ottawa, Ontario.
In the early morning on Tuesday, the Knights skated to a 1 – 1 tie with the Tornadoes in their third game of the 12th Annual Captial High School Hockey Tournament. Goaltender Ryan Cook had the assist on Knight Tyler Sayers goal for St. Mary’s lone goal of the contest.
At 9:15 in the nation’s capital, the seventh place (0-2) Superior Heights Steelhawks met the fifth place (1-1) Williamstown, Ontario Char-Lan Crusaders in their third game of the tournament in Ottawa. In Superior Heights 2 – 1 win over the Crusaders, Steelhawk Nick Keenan sank Superior Heights first goal with an unassisted power play marker. With the game winner, Ryan Guindon found the back of Char-Lan’s net for the Steelhawks second of the game in the third. Jake Tulloch and Ethan West drew the contributors on Guindon’s game winner. Superior Heights goaltender Jacob Patterson was between the pipes in the Steelhawks 2 – 1 win.
In their final game of round robin, the sixth place (0-2) Korah Colts took on the fourth place (1-1) Ancaster Royals in a 12:00 p.m start on Tuesday in Ottawa. Nik Gervasi sank two goals in the Colts 5 – 3 win over the Royals along with Noah Carrarato, Brandon Dukes, Tristan O’Flynn scoring one each for Korah. Tyler Albert, Noah Sehovic, Zak Provenzano, Joe Beaupre added one helper each in the win while O’Flynn contributed on two Colts goals in the nation’s capital. Nick Trunzo had the win in net for Korah in the final round robin game.
Unfortunately the (0-3) Steelhawks and (1-2) Colts were eliminated from the 12th Annual Captial High School Hockey Tournament with their records while the second place (3-0) Knights head to the finals at 3:40 p.m on Tuesday against the first place Rockland, Ontario (3-0) L’Escale Cougars.
