The fourth place Soo AAA Major Midget Greyhounds hit the road for a back to back series against the second place Sudbury Nickel Capital Major Midget Wolves on November 11th and 12th in Great North Midget League regular season action.
In an 8 – 3 loss on Friday evening, the Greyhounds had goals from Dale Armstrong and Camden Findlay in the opening period while Findlay sank his second of the game in the third for the Soo’s three markers. Armstrong’s goal was unassisted while Parker Morgan and Jordan Ritchie added assists on Findlay’s first. On Findlay’s third period goal, Jonathan Mackin and Colby Arbour had the contributors on the Thunderbirds third. Goaltender Dawson Hunter saw action between the pipes in game one of the weekend.
Game two on Saturday afternoon, Andrew Uschenko had the start in net for the Thunderbirds in their 8 – 1 loss to the Sudbury Nickel Capital Major Midget Wolves. Avery Rebek sank the Soo’s lone goal in the loss. Nick Jameus and Owen Shier registered the helpers on Rebek’s third period goal.
The Greyhounds will be back on the road on for one game on November 19th in Powassan against the first place North Bay Trappers Minor Midget in a 2:30 p.m puck drop.
