Season Over for Greyhounds with Loss in Owen Sound

Coming off a 4 – 2 loss in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario to the Owen Sound Attack and falling 3 – 2 in the Western Conference semi – final series with three consecutive losses, the Soo Greyhounds headed into Owen Sound on April 16th looking to even the Ontario Hockey League series 3 – 3 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre.

After an unsuccessful clearing attempt by the Greyhounds, Owen Sound’s Nick Suzuki finds the back of Soo Joseph Raaymakers’ net at 13:09 of the middle stanza to give the Attack a 1 – 0 win over the Greyhounds. Assists came from Jacob Friend and Jonah Gadjovich. Soo goaltender Joseph Raaymakers turned away 41 of 42 saves in the Soo’s 1 – 0 shutout loss.

With Owen Sounds 4 – 2 series win, the Attack will now wait for the winner of the Erie Otters and London Knights series with the Otters up 3 – 2 in the best of seven series, while the Peterborough Petes will meet the Mississauga Steelheads in the Eastern Conference final.
