Looking to improve their 2017 OFC football to 4 – 2, the third place varsity Sault Sabercats hit the road for their final regular season game when they faced the fifth place 1 – 4 Nipissing Wild in North Bay on July 8th in a 2:00 p.m kick – off.
Six different Sabercats found the end zone in the Sault’s 48 – 0 win in North Bay with Dalton Toppan and Issac Belisto catching a pass from quarterback Ryan Yost while Tristan Marshall, Greg Caruso and Belsito carrying the ball for three more touchdowns for the Sabercats. Nick Fowler caught an Wild interception for the one more touchdown to bring the Sabercats home with securing third place.
Quarterback Yost finds Toppan, Belisto and Rob Wright for one two point conversion each along with Yost and Caruso running the ball for the other two conversions. Skylar Premo – Miceli had to single point rouges for the Sabercat other two points in the Sault’s dominating win in North Bay.
“Great team win today it was one of our best all around performances of the season. All three aspects offence, defence and special teams executed well today. Offensively we were consistent for four quarters and defensively we didn’t give up much” said Sabercat head coach Matt Premo.
After a forfeit by the Vaughan Rebels, the Sabercats will now return to Barrie, Ontario on July 22nd to face the Stallions.
