On January 10th in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario at the Essar Centre, the first place (34-3-2-1) Soo Greyhounds took to the ice to meet the fourth place (21-14-3) Saginaw Spirit in a west division Ontario Hockey League match – up.
With 1:13 remaining in the opening period, newly acquired Greyhound forward Taylor Raddysh sinks the first goal of the in a Soo jersey from a scrum in front of Spirit goaltender Cameron Lamour to give the hosts a 1 – 0 lead. Morgan Frost and Conor Timmins drew the contributors on Raddysh’s power play goal. On a Spirit power play, Marcus Crawford and Mason Kohn set up Cole Coskey’s tying goal for Saginaw at 15:53 of the second period to pull the visitors even at 1 – 1. Scoring the go – ahead goal with his 21st of the season, Tim Gettinger picks up his own rebound in from of the Spirit net to give the Soo a 2 – 1 lead. Keeghan Howdeshell and Rasmus Sandin had the helpers on Gettinger’s goal. Scoring his 17th of the season and second as a Greyhound, Raddysh gives the Soo a 3 – 1 win at 7:42 of the third with newly acquired defenseman Jordan Sambrook and forward Boris Katchouk registering the assists.
The Greyhounds will now host the fourth place midwest division Owen Sound Attack on January 12th at the Essar Centre in a 7:07 p.m start.
