Algoma University and the Algoma University Thunderbirds Varsity Athletics Program are pleased to announce that Mohammed Osman has joined the men’s soccer program for the 2017-18 season.
“Mohammed will be a great addition to the team. He is a forward with lots of pace and can get in behind the defense. We are looking forward to welcoming him and working with him in the upcoming season,” said men’s Head Coach Neil Ovey.
From Khartoum, Sudan, Osman has been playing soccer for 13 years. Osman is a 6’0″ and 147lbs forward. He played for Galatasaray S.K. football club in Istanbul, Turkey. Osman is an Azri Second Division Champion.
Osman joins Algoma from Baku International School.
He will be studying in Algoma U’s four-year Bachelor of Arts in Political Science program.
“The Algoma University soccer program attracted me because of the unique environment it provides, also it has many international players that would add more fun to the game with their experiences. Hopefully, with my experience in Africa and Europe, [we can] achieve some titles with the team,” said Osman.
