Midget Wildcats Open 2017/18 NGML Season with Two Losses

The stage was set to start the Northern Girls Midget Loop league play in Espanola, Ontario with the Sault Wildcats against the North Bay Ice Boltz BB Saturday October 7th.

The Wildcats where at a disadvantage before the puck was dropped with five players missing due to the Thanksgiving weekend. They where able to get some girls from the Intermediate/Midget house league to fill in.

In game one at 12:00 p.m, the Ice Boltz shut out the Marconi Wildcats to a 2-0 score.

Game two was a quick turn around with a 2:30 p.m start. North Bay got on the board first with a 5-3 power play goal.  Again North Bay made it 2-0 start. The Marconi Wildcats finally came to life and got their first goal of the weekend by Abbi Benka with helpers from Madison Vernelli and Tyra Giasson. North Bay replied with another goal to make it a 3-1 match.

Next up for the Marconi Cultural Centre Wildcats is a trip to Etobicoke to compete in the 16 team Midget A division “Pink in the Rink” Tournament. They start off play against the host Dolphins at Friday October 13th.
