Lake Superior State volleyball fell in three sets (25-15, 25-20, 25-19) against Upper Peninsula rivals and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members, Northern Michigan on Friday November 11th.
The Wildcats (16-14, 7-9 GLIAC) combined for 40 kills on a .247 attack percentage, while the Lakers (3-25, 0-16 GLIAC) managed just 22 kills for a .063 attack percentage.
Leading the Lakers in kills was junior Brooke Williams with six, followed by freshman Amanda Reid with five kills and junior Elizabeth Ballor with four kills. Ballor also combined on a team-high four blocks and also chipped in a kill.
On the back end junior Justice Kjolhede tied Reid for a team-high eight digs.
NMU was led by Bridget Brussell and Madison Whitehead with nine kills each. Kayla Chosa followed with eight kills, totaled six assisted blocks and tallied one solo block. Jami Hogeboom finished with a match-high 28 assists.
The Lakers close the 2016 campaign on Saturday at 4:00 p.m at Michigan Tech.
