Knights’ coach Frank Medaglia told Saultsports that “the boys didn’t have their same “jump” for the first 2 periods. We managed to go into the third tied at one and felt good about our chances. We picked it up on the third and had some good opportunities to score, just couldn’t bury. Our team doesn’t quit…with the goalie pulled we scored late to tie it up and send it to OT where we had our chances there as well!”
“We come out of this with a sense that we can compete quite well with the teams that we may see at Ofsaa. That will help with our confidence, our goal as always, is to medal at the OFSAA AAA level. If we get there, we like our chances” said Medaglia.
St. Mary’s returns home to face the third place Korah Colts at the Essar Centre on January 14th in a 8:00 p.m start.
