In week three of the Sault Ste Marie High School Football League, the (1 – 1) St. Marys Knights hit the turf at Superior Heights to meet the (0 – 2) White Pines Wolverines in junior football action.
29 seconds into the opening quarter, Nicholas Pagnotta carries the ball three yards for the Knights to give St. Mary’s a 7 – 0 lead after a successful extra points. On a 55 yard run, Pagnotta scores the Knights second touchdown of the game at 3:58 of the first quarter to bring the lead to 14 – 0. White Pines Nathan Collins carries the ball 19 yards after an 12 yard pass from quarterback Everett Webkamigad to close the gap to 14 – 6 at 9:21 of the second quarter. Braydon Grbich runs the ball for three yards for the Knights third touchdown of the game with 5:26 left in the half to give St. Mary’s a 21 – 6 win.
Carrying the ball for 36 yards for his third major of the game, Pagnotta increases the Knights lead to 28 – 6. St. Mary’s quarterback runs the seven yards with 41.8 seconds left in the half to give the Knights a 35 – 6 win over the Wolverines.

The Knights will now meet the Superior Heights Steelhawks on September 28th while the Wolverines will take on Korah Colts on September 29th. Both junior games will be played at Superior Heights at 4:45 p.m respectively.
