The North Stars defeated the Sudbury Nickel City Sons Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-2 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five semi-final playoff series.

The series now shifts to Sudbury for game three and four, if necessary, next weekend.

Paul Orlando was in goal for the North Stars win.

 

Scoring for the North Stars were:

 

1. Brandon Warmington from Jake Wright and Matt Eddy at 11:01 of the first period.

2. Brandon Warmington from Jake Wright and Derek Battagin at 7:10 of the first period.

3. Jake Wright from Justin Cooke and Matt Eddy at 7:06 of the second period on the power play.

4. Darcy Casola from Grant Syrette and Aiden Wright at 5:17 of the second period.
