This past Saturday signed members of the Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club met in Mississauga at the Athlete Training Centre for mid-summer fitness testing. In attendance to monitor performances was Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Dubas, Head Coach Mike Stapleton, recently-named Assistant Coach Joe Cirella, Director of Player Development Wes Clark, GTA Scout Victor Carneiro and Therapist Richard Rotenberg. This testing served to give both players and staff a measure as to where the players are in terms of their preparation for the team's Main Training Camp and the upcoming season, as well as direct their training for the next four weeks. A battery of tests were performed to measure upper and lower body strength, core stability, and aerobic and anaerobic capacity. The session was an opportunity for returning Greyhounds to meet recent draft picks Jared McCann and Kevin Spinozzi as well as recently acquired defenceman Alex Gudbranson. All players put out strong efforts, indicating that they are on track in preparation for the upcoming season.  Standout performances were put down by Colin Miller, Greg Jambrosich, and David Broll on the day. The team now continues to prepare for the start of Training Camp 2012 which commences on Wednesday, August 29th with off-ice testing along with the first practices of the week. Â
