The JKG Enterprises Soo Pee Wee Black Sox returned home from a hard fought tournament in Windsor, Ont. The Black Sox opened the tournament against a strong team from Toronto. With some great pitching from starter Noah Pearce, the Black Sox were able to overcome their nerves and battle for a 5-2 win. Pearce pitched four strong innings with six strikeouts and no hits with Todd Webb coming in relief and finishing off the game. Offensively, the Sox were lead by a Bradon Caruso RBI double. Austin Hurley had a double while RBI singles went to Tyler Sayers, Dylan Sewell and Geryd Lesage. Game two had the Sox in tough against a Pee Wee major loaded London team. Despite solid pitching from Braedon Whalen, Sayers and Cole Wright the Black Sox could not erase a 4-0 London lead. Untimely errors caused the locals to settle for a 9-2 loss. The Sox were lead by RBI singles from Webb and Lesage, along with singles from Caruso and Sewell. Poor field conditions caused a reformation of the round robin portion of the tournament which placed the Black Sox in the semi-finals against the tournament favourite and host Walker Homesites. Another strong pitching performance from Pearce, Caruso and Webb kept the Black Sox in the thick of things for the entire game. Two costly errors proved to be the difference in a 6-3 loss to the host team. Offensively the Black Sox were lead by Wright with two singles and an RBI, and Hurley with a RBI double. Noah Pearce had a single and RBI. The JKG Enterprises Pee Wee Black Sox return home to complete the regular season and continue to build towards a strong showing at the provincial tournament in Stratford, Ont.
