After the opening day of the 2012 Black Sox Invitational, the Cambrian Nissan Black Sox have a pair of wins. The Black Sox opened the tournament with a 7-3 win over the Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.-based E.U.P. Travelers and then capped off the opening day with an 8-4 win over Sudbury in the second game of the day. In the opener, Cody Yardanoff pitched a complete game, striking out four Travelers hitters in the process. Coty Anderson reached base three times with a single, double and a walk and knocked in a pair of runs in the win. Collin McAuley also knocked in a pair of runs in the win. Jeb Pallott reached base twice. In the second game, Eric Thornton singled twice in the victory over Sudbury, knocking in a pair of runs in the process. McAuley added two more hits in the win with a single and a double. Pallott pitched six innings and struck out four Sudbury hitters while Thornton came in for the final inning. In the final game of the night, Gladwin beat Team North 6-1. The Black Sox wrap uo their round robin schedule with a double header on Saturday that sees them face Gladwin at 4:30 and then Team North at 7 p.m. Â
