Soo Greyhounds General Manager Kyle Raftis is pleased to announce on June 16th the commitment from 2017 draft pick Joe Carroll.
The Carp, Ontario native was the Greyhounds fourth Round Pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection.
“With outstanding performances at both our development camp and the OHL Gold Cup, Joe proved he is an elite player among his peers. He is the type of gifted player who has size, speed and a great shot. He uses his physicality to create space for himself with the puck and we look forward to continuing to develop this natural talent” began Raftis.
“He had many options as to where to take the next step in his hockey career and we are very fortunate and excited that Joe and his family chose to pursue his hockey and academic career with the Soo Greyhounds Program” concluded Raftis.
The 6’2″ and 185 lbs winger played one season ago with the Carleton Place Canadians Midget AAA hockey club.
In 45 regular season games played, Joe had 18 goals and 21 assists (39 points) before adding 3 points (2g, 1a) in four games with Team Eastern Ontario at the OHL Cup.
