Greyhound Frost Selected in First Round of 2017 NHL Draft

In Chicago, Illinois on June 23rd, Soo Greyhound forward Morgan Frost was selected 27th overall in the first round at the 2017 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers. The Flyers traded Brayden Scheen to St. Louis Blues for Jori Lehtera and the first round 27th overall selection with which Philadelphia used that draft pick to select the 18 year old Aurora, Ontario native.

In his second season with the Greyhounds, the fourth round 81st OHL draft selection in 2015 sank 20 goals and added 42 assists in 67 regular season games with the Soo. The 6’0” and 170 lbs forward had eight points in 11 post – season games with two goals and six contributors with the Greyhounds.

The 18 year old forward was the first Soo Greyhound selected in Chicago at the United Centre in the 2017 NHL Draft. Philadelphia has said that Frost will return to Sault Ste Marie, Ontario to join his Greyhounds for the 2017 – 2018 OHL season.
