Eagle coach Jim Capy told Saultsports.com that “we had to overcome some obstacles to finally eliminate a very tough Elliot Lake team. We could have folded the tent after we were down 3 – 1 but showed a lot of character to fight our way back in the game. Full credit to a very well coached Elliot Lake team. Thought the Gaudet line was really good for us. Don’t have a lot of time to prepare for Thunderbirds but look forward to the challenge ahead.”

The Eagles will open up the series against their cross border rivals, the Soo Thunderbirds on March 16th at the John Rhodes Centre in game one for a 7:00 p.m start.
