Colts Loss a Tough One in NOSSA Senior Football Final to Trojans

In the senior Korah Colts hit road for their first appearance in the Northern Ontario Secondary Schools Association (NOSSA) championship since 1992 when meet the Nipissing District champion West Ferris Trojans on November 11th in a 1:30 p.m kick – off.

In a hard tough fought 25 – 24 loss on Saturday afternoon. In the loss in North Bay, Nik Gervais carried the ball for two touchdowns for Korah with on 20 yard and 25 yard carries along with Darian Belkosky running for the Colts other major for a five yard touchdown run. Quarterback Jordan Robinson Wright found Colt Alex Segin in the Trojans end zone for a two point conversion for Korah. The Colts scored a safety for one more point in the NOSSA championship.

Coach Tom Annett told Saultsports that “today’s championship was a tough loss for us, but I’m very proud of our student athletes and what they have accomplished this season.”

The 2017 NOSSA champions, the West Ferris Trojans will now advance to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Bowl Series in Hamilton, Ontario that is slated for November 29th in Northern Bowl were the Trojans will face the Northwestern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (NWOSSAA) champions with the kick off at 11:00 a.m at Tim Hortons Field.
