High School hockey returned to the ice after the 2017 Christmas break with the third place Korah Colts taking on the fourth place CASS Huskies on January 7th at the Essar Centre in Sault Ste Marie Hockey Hockey League regular season action.
At 7:57 of the opening period, Tyler Albert sends a pass to Korah’s Brandon Dukes to give the Colts a 1 – 0 lead. Sinking the tying goal for the Huskies was Marcus King with an unassisted goal at 4:38 of the first period. Dante Campagna score the go – ahead for the Colts at the 11:28 mark of the middle stanza with Tyler Albert adding the helper on Campagna’s goal. Korah’s Noah Naccarato gives the Colts a 3 – 1 lead at 9:29 of the period with Matthew Jackson setting up the Colts third goal of the contest. With Korah on a power play, Liam Brescacin adds to the lead at 3:17 with Andrew Jalak and Naccarato adding the contributors on Brescacin’s power play marker.
At 2:44 of the second, Tristen O’Flynn sends the Colts into the second intermission up 5 – 1 with Tyler Albert notching the assists on Korah’s fifth of the game. Tyler Albert registers his fourth point of the game to increase the lead to 6 – 1 with Ryan Fleming adding the assists at 8:23 of the third. Tyler Legros gives the Colts a 7 – 1 win at 7:17 of the final period. Campagna and Albert drew the contributors on Korah’s seventh of the game.
Next up for the Huskies will be on January 12th when CASS hosts the Superior Heights Steelhawks in Thessalon in an 8:00 p.m puck drop while the Colts will meet the first place St. Mary’s Knights at the Essar Centre on January 14th at 8:00 p.m.
