Colts 1-1 After Day One at the 2017 ‘AA/A’ NOSSA Hockey Championships

After losing the 2017 Sault Ste Marie High School Hockey League Championships series 3 – 1 to the St. Mary’s Knights, the Korah Colts are representing Sault Ste Marie in North Bay, Ontario on March 6th – 8th at the 2017 ‘AA/A’ Boys Hockey Championships with their first match –up on March 6th at 9:00 a.m against the Chippewa Secondary Raiders from North Bay.

Scoring the lone goal of the contest was Korah’s Noah Naccarato at 13:33 of the second period to give the Colts a 1 – 0 win over the Raiders. Issac Lennox registered the assist on Naccarato’s goal. Korah goaltender Braxton Marlow earned the shutout with turning all 14 shots for the Colts.

In game two against the Widdifield Secondary Wildcats from North Bay, the Colts hit the ice on day one for their second game of the day with a 5:30 p.m puck drop. Naccarato sank the only goal in the second period for Korah in the Colts 5 – 1 loss to the Wildcats. Lennox had the contributor on Naccarato’s power play marker. Marlow stopped 19 of 25 shots in the Colts second game of the 2017 NOSSA Championships.

The (1 – 1) Colts will be back in action in North Bay on March 7th when they face the (0 – 1 – 1) St. Charles Cardinals of Sudbury, Ontario in a 10:30 a.m start.
