The Korah Colts took on the White Pines Wolverines under cloudy and windy skies in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario on October 14th in senior high school football action at Superior Heights.
1:43 into the first quarter, Lucas Higham scores the lone touchdown for White Pines to give the Wolverines a 6 – 0 with the two point conversion not successful. Right at the end of the first quarter, Liam O’Connor of the Colts ran the ball 13 yards into the Wolverines end zone to even the game 6 – 6. Aaron Grawbarger kicked the extra point to give Korah a 7 – 0 lead.
26 seconds before the halfway mark of the second quarter, Colt quarterback Michael Byron carries the ball for a 20 yard touchdown to increase Korah’s lead to 13 – 6. Grawburger’s extra point blocked by Wolverine defense to keep the score at 13 – 6. scoring his first of three, Korah’s Darian Belkosky carried the ball for 12 yards at 3:52 of the second quarter to bring the Colts to a 14 point lead over the Wolverines.
With 1:33 left in the half fullback Belkosky ran for his second touchdown of the contest to give the Colts a 27 – 6 lead. The Colts Belkosky carried the ball into White Pines end zone on a four yard carry at 5:37 of the third bring Korah’s lead to 34 – 6 at Superior Heights.
Belkosky told Saultsports that “it was a nice win offence was pounding the ball there was great blocking from offensive line and other positions that allowed us to get the yards we did. Offence came out of the gates running and we didn’t let up.”
“Defense struggled a bit at first but we tightened things up and held the Wolverines to a six point game. To get the next win we have stay focused, practice hard and make no mistakes in the game as well as play at hundred percent and we’ll get that win” said Belkosky.

The Colts will meet the St. Mary’s Knights in the second senior semi – final on October 21st at Superior Heights in a 4:15 p.m kick – off.
