Beavers Advance to NOJHL West Division Final to Meet Eagles

The Blind River Beavers hit the ice at the Blind River Community Centre in front of 575 junior ‘A’ hockey fans in game seven of a west division semi – final against their opponent the Rayside Balfour Canadians on March 28th in Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League 2017 play – off action.

From the left of Canadians netminder Owen Johannson, Mark Bastianello fires the only goal of the contest at 7:09 of the first to give the Beavers a 1 – 0 win over Rayside Balfour. Anthony Pulliciino and Cole Peck added the contributors on Bastianello’s series winner to advance the Beavers to the west division final. Myles Hektor turned away 45 of 45 shots in the Lake Bluff, Illinois native’s first post – season shutout.

The Beavers will host the Soo Eagles in game one of the west division final on March 31st in Blind River in a 7:30 p.m start.
