The Algoma Thunderbirds soccer and basketball teams will see action over the September 16th – 18th weekend at home and away.
In basketball, the women will take on rival Northern Ontario squad the Laurentian Voyageurs on Friday and Saturday in a pair of exhibition games. The Thunderbirds tip-off against the Lady Vees at 6:00 p.m on Friday and at 1:00 p.m on Saturday in the George Leach Centre (GLC). The men will suit up in red and white jerseys to go head-to-head against themselves in their annual red and white games. Game times are 8:00 p.m on Friday and 3:00 p.m on Saturday in the GLC.
In soccer, the Thunderbirds travel to St. Catharines, Ontario to take on the Brock Badgers. Both teams are hoping to score their first OUA points of the season. Each season since joining the OUA, the men’s squad have come away with a tie over the Badgers. Game times are 1:00 p.m (women) and 3:00 p.m (men) on Saturday and 12:00 p.m (women) and 2:00 p.m (men) on Sunday.
