‘AA’ Midget Wildcats head Home After 0-3 Record at 2016 OWHA Provincials

At the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association Provincials in Toronto, Ontario, the Midget ‘AA’ Sault Wildcats would hit the ice in game one on April 7th against the Whitby Wolves on day one of their provincial championships.

At 9:00 p.m Friday evening the Sault Wildcats skated to a 0 – 0 tie with the Wolves in game one. In their second contest of the weekend, the Stoney Creek Sabres faced off with the Wildcats at 11:00 a.m on Friday morning in game two. After a hard fought game, the Wildcats fell to the Sabres 4 – 3 in game two at the OWHA Provincials.

Five hours later the Wildcats were looking for their first win over the championships when they met the Jr. Gryphons from Guelph, Ontario at 5:45 p.m on April 8th on day two. When the final buzzer sounded the Gryphons handed the Wildcats their third loss on the OWHA Provincial Championships in Toronto.

With the three losses, the Sault Wildcats will head home to end their season along a long and exciting season behind the Midget ‘AA’ hockey program.

Player roster includes: Cody-Lee Deevey, Mak Chartrand, Rachel McKinley, Britney Zack, Autumn McLean, Olivia Pollari, Lindsay Robinson, Sarah Freeman, Logan Carrick, Katie Robinson, Dakota Rouse, Mack Monico, Kara Neveau and Nicole Naccarato.

Coaching staff includes: Mark Thorburn (Head Coach), Julia Colizza (Assistant Coach), Deralise Mills (Assistant Coach), Bill Freeman (Assistant Coach), Holly Zack (Manager) and Melissa Deevey (Trainer).
